Marga Fripp

Marga is a lifelong pollinator of good — trauma-informed expressive art therapist and mind-body wellness coach, certified Mindful Movement Qigong teacher, and artist. She is the Co-Founder and CEO of The Pollinators Foundation and Marga Fripp Studio, LLC.

In her 30 years of experience, she empowered thousands of women and families from immigrants, and refugees, to domestic violence, human trafficking, and trauma survivors. Her leadership and advocacy skills made impact in social justice, women’s empowerment, and social entrepreneurship. She is the founder of two successful nonprofit organizations, Empowered Women International, for immigrants and refugee women in The Washington D.C. Area, and APoWeR Romania for domestic violence survivors.

In her early 20’s, she was banned from practicing journalism in her native country, Romania, for “political insubordination.” Following her media career, she created a nonprofit organization, The Association for the Promotion of Women Romania (APoWeR), the first organization in Southeastern Europe to draft a legal bill and advocate for legislation to protect domestic violence survivors. The bill was signed into law by the Romanian Parliament in 2003.

The Pollinators Foundation is her third nonprofit dedicated to promoting wellness, mental well-being and social healing, and destigmatizing mental illness. Marga has been honored as one of Maryland’s Leading Women: 50 Women Under 40 by the Daily Record 2012, and a 2015 Living Legend of Alexandria, USA.

Marga has a master’s in Expressive Arts Therapy from the European Graduate School in Switzerland, and a B.A. in Communication/Journalism from the University of Maryland University College. She is also a 200-hour Certified Holden QiGong Teacher with training in Mindfulness Self-Compassion, Expressive Arts for Trauma Survivors, Mental Health First Aid, Laughter Yoga, and Mental Well-Being Certification.
