Join landscape artist, Richard Baker, for a free oil painting demonstration and an inspirational talk on the creative process. Richard’s studio is near our Healing Hive at Folkmoot, and it’s always a joy to have a conversation with Richard.

He paints because, as he puts it, “I can’t not paint.” And painting he says, in an interview with The Laurel of Asheville “is always a puzzle, a complicated process. It’s not a Zen moment. It’s different every time. That’s why we’re always learning and growing as artists.”

Richard’s studio is an immersion in nature, each of his paintings a little jewel of our blessed mountains, rivers, and farmland. I am deeply inspired by his wise approach to painting and living, and I know you too will find his creative process inspirational and empowering.
